Albany Island, traditionally known as Pabaju, is a hidden gem just off the northernmost tip of Australia in the Cape York Peninsula. Nestled in the Torres Strait, our island is rich in Indigenous culture, history, and natural beauty.

Stretching about 5.5 km long and 1–2 km wide, Albany Island offers the ultimate off-grid escape—secluded and scenic views. Whether you're here to chase trophy fish, wander bush tracks or learn how to open a coconut—there’s something here for every kind of explorer.

After a day out, unwind with a cold drink at the Lure Bar and enjoy freshly caught fish and chips from our island restaurant. We also offer comfortable island-style accommodation- with air-conditioning, perfect for those wanting to stay a little longer in paradise.

We run regular pickups from Somerset Beach and Punsand Bay, making it easy to come over for a day trip or a longer stay. Whether you’re on a fishing mission or just here to relax and recharge—Albany Island is your tropical home away from home.

Cape York offers fantastic fishing! Albany Island fishing guides are very experienced and use a variety of fishing techniques to maximise angling opportunities: lure casting, live baits, trolling lures and baits, strip baits, reef fishing, live baiting, jigging, whatever your desire to get you the best outcome.
